But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way." Republican Senator David Vitter has just been dealt a huge political BLOW. Wow. This scandal is all over the international papers. First Democrat Representative William Jefferson for taking bribes, now Senator David Vitter for fooling around with the DC Madam. You politicians from Louisiana sure make our state proud! If you are going to preach about God and your family values... you had better keep that snake in your trousers. This just looks downright silly.
Now, I am not saying I am perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I just have a blog. My point is that I am NOT running for a public office. I don't need to kiss ass and pretend to be the perfect model citizen.

I'm confused. After all of these years of family values and god and country being tossed in my direction, I've begun to think that letting one's dick run amuck and telling others that they're not "saved" is the way to get into heaven. Not true? I'm so confused.
You'd think that hypocrite politicians who scream about defending straight marriage so much could keep their cocks outta the whores. But the ones that shout the loudest usually have a reason for shouting.
The Repugs outed Bitter Vitter and his Fr. Quarter lover prior to the 2004 US Senate race but the msm buried it. And allegedly, the Repug Justice Dept kept the Canal st madam's book sealed because Bitter Vitter was there. He and his wife went into counseling. Candidates in the 2004 sen race knew this but the dems were holding out til the runoff which never happened.
Vitter epitomizes rightwing, antichoice, homophobic, holier that thou, sexist hypocrisy.

I think our country would be in a better place if the elected politicians were _not_ such model citizens. Sometimes the fuckups have been through the ringer and at least know how _not_ to do something wrong. I don't require my elected officials to have a sterling history.
Fortunately for Senator Vitter, there is forgiveness with God. Moral failure isn't restricted to either party. Does anyone remember Clinton?
To lewis: No, sexual sin isn't the "way to heaven!". But one must come to grips with his or her sin and go to God for forgiveness. It is defonitely not a matter of "holier than thou." CB
